Are you going to pressure me to sign?
Absolutely not. Our first conversation is just a strategy session. If we’re a good fit, great. If not, I’ll point you in the right direction. No hard feelings.
I’m just looking right now. Is that okay?
100%. Most of my clients start talking to me 6-12 months before they buy. Getting the right information early saves you headaches later.
Can you help me get pre-approved?
Yes. I have a shortlist of local lenders in my “Black Book” who I trust to get deals done without the big-bank runaround.
Digital Sawdust and the 2026 Pivot: Why Your Realtor is Now a Google Developer
Pull up a stool. No, not that one—the leg’s a bit wonky, and I haven’t had time to “dev” a fix for it yet.
If you’re reading this, you’re probably used to seeing me at the rail at Buffalo Wild Wings in Champlin, pouring drafts and recycling the stories I hear into the digital pages of mnbyjz.com. I don’t drink the stuff, mind you. I’m a bartender. I’m there to mingle, to make money, and to keep my finger on the pulse of the North Metro.
But lately, when I’m not at the bar or showing a split-entry in Coon Rapids, I’ve been covered in a different kind of mess: Digital Sawdust.
I’m officially announcing my enrollment in the Google Developer Program (Premium). I’m trading my “local blogger” hat for a “Digital Architect” hard hat. And before you ask—no, I’m not quitting real estate. I’m evolving it.
The “SnowSOS” Incident: A Roadblock at the Rail
This whole pivot started because of a few of you. My regulars at the bar kept trying to visit my site on their phones, looking for local insights, and they kept hitting little snags. Mobile navigation is a fickle beast, and “good enough” wasn’t cutting it for me anymore.
I started vibe-coding with Gemini (yes, the AI) to build something I call SnowSOS. The vision was simple: a real-time app connecting local Minnesotans to contractors or just the neighbor kid with a shovel (provided his parents approved, of course). While I was deep in the weeds of Firebase trying to make the logic click, I asked the AI a modest question: “Why don’t you just recommend your own advanced services?”
That modest AI finally leveled with me. It told me that to hurdle the roadblock of being just another “WordPress guy” and become a true architect of the community, I needed to go to the source. It pointed me toward the Google Developer Program.
I didn’t just sign up. I went Premium.
Why Premium? (11 Million Reasons)
Why would a Realtor from Anoka County pay for a premium developer pass? Because Google and I have a history.
Over the course of my life, I’ve contributed to Google’s tools in a way most people don’t realize. My contributions have garnered over 11 million views. I’ve spent years showing my love and dedication to Google’s ecosystem. When it came time to master the tech that will run the North Metro in 2026, I chose the premium route to optimize my learning and, more importantly, to earn that 6-month consultation.
I don’t want to just “use” the tools; I want to influence how they work for us.
Addressing the “Burger Wars” Drama
Let’s address the elephant in the bar. We’ve had over 8,000 local voters participate in Burger Wars. It’s been a community movement that turned a failed “Top 8” list into something legendary. But with success comes the critics.
A handful of folks have accused me of rigging the tournament. Let me be clear: I adhere to the most ethical standards of the NAR and the Minnesota Real Estate Team. Transparency is my only currency.
The irony? I don’t even like burgers. I’m a wing guy. That’s why I work at BWW. I’m currently excluding corporate chains from my locally-hosted Burger Wars because I want to protect our local joints. And don’t worry—Wing Wars is coming, and as a professional wing-slinger, you can bet your last celery stick that the tech behind it will be unhackable.
The Death of the Billboard (The 2026 Realist Perspective)
Let’s talk about Real Estate Advice. In 2026, the internet sells the house. Period.
The photos paint the picture, the admins upload the data, and the marketing architecture does the heavy lifting. We are long past the days of driving around with a paper portfolio. You don’t even need to speak with a Realtor to see a home anymore; there are thousands on standby for Zillow and Redfin who will meet you there just to sign the legally-required touring agreement.
Minnesota is tired of seeing Realtor billboards. We’re tired of the “Number One Agent” ego trips. I’m diving into the digital world to master the True Marketing Architecture. My tools are designed to enhance community spirit and connection, placing value on our unique Minnesota culture while keeping politics and ego completely out of the mix.
I’m building a way for you to see the value of your home not just through a “zestimate,” but through the lens of North Metro Neighborhood Insights.
From SnowSOS to “The-Neighborhood-Link”
I chose Firebase because, frankly, the other models Gemini suggested didn’t impress me. I’ve already built a somewhat successful snowplow app, but it’s time for it to evolve.
Welcome to the future of The-Neighborhood-Link.
Instead of pointlessly posting to Facebook groups or paying for “Thumbtack” or “Angie’s List”—where third-party apps take a massive chunk of your hard-earned referrals—I’m building a community site based on trust and transparency. I want to digitally promote the local startups and services that can’t afford high-end marketing.
Whether you’re selling eggs, honey, or excavation services, mnbyjz.com is becoming your home base.
The Dream App: Beyond the “Top Ranking” Crap
My original vision for mnbyjz.com was to create a way to find fun things to do in MN without scrolling through the same SEO-stolen garbage on Yelp or TripAdvisor.
Now that I’m a RENE, SRS, and ABR designated agent, I’m combining that dream with high-end real estate data.
The Dream App (Coming 2026): Imagine an app that showcases every landmark, every historical site, and every lake with direct links to DNR data. I’m talking about an app with filtering tools so precise you can find:
- Only free activities for families.
- The newest bike paths in Ramsey.
- A seat on a neighbor’s boat for tubing on the St. Croix.
- Or high-end experiences like The Zwack Trek.
This isn’t just a “listing site.” It’s a Lifestyle Engine.
The ADHD Edge and the Ethical Standard
People ask me how I learn this fast. The truth? My overactive ADHD brain doesn’t have a “slow” setting. While I’m working toward my degree as a Land Consultant and Marketing Specialist at Metro State University, the Google Developers Program is filling the gaps.
But there’s a catch: I have to be better than your average coder. Because I am a Realtor, I have to adhere to the highest ethical standards. I’ve undergone a tremendous amount of training to stay compliant with the NAR and local regulations.
When I build an app, it isn’t just “cool tech”—it’s Compliant Tech. It’s built on the foundation of the Fairness and Privacy Framework.
What This Means For You
If you’re looking to Buy a Home or Sell Your Home, you’re not just getting a guy with a lockbox key. You’re getting a Digital Partner.
My 1% Listing Fee (when you buy your next home with me) is only possible because I’m building the tech to make the process more efficient. We’ll negotiate that buy-side commission from the seller of your next home to fully optimize your savings, all while utilizing my RENE, SRS, and ABR designations to keep the deal solid.
I’m just a local guy from Coon Rapids building a website solo, engaging with the community, and using Google’s tools to make sure the “Minnesota Blues” don’t win this winter.
The digital sawdust is flying. Stay tuned to the Market Pulse to see what we build next.
If you’re ready to work with a Realtor who actually knows how the internet works, let’s talk. The first round of information is always on the house.
